Quo
Vadis?
"Quo
Vadis?", which translated means "Whither goest thou?", is
the Association's magazine. Published three times a year, in March, July
and November, it is circulated to all its members.
It contains:
·
accounts and pictures of the End-to-End
journeys Members
·
travel items of a broader or different
nature of interest to Members
·
lists of new Members
·
reports of the Association’s weekends
·
details of the Trophy winners
·
puzzles, quizzes and items of a
lighthearted nature
It keeps Members informed of what's
happening within the Association, and gives them an opportunity of airing
their views and helps them keep in touch with one another.
Over the years, it has
recounted the tales of Members who have completed the journey:
- in a
hand-propelled invalid carriage,
- on a 49cc NSC
moped using only SIX gallons of fuel,
- in a powered
wheelchair,
- on bicycles,
taking in the four extremities of the British mainland,
- walking with Ian
Botham in 1985,
- in a pony and
trap,
- in a Phantom jet
fighter in the record time of 46 minutes and 44 seconds,
- in Old Number 9
- a 1926 Bentley, in 17 hours,
- on a quad farm
bike,
- on foot, as a
78-year-old man, in 42 days, which culminated in his proposal to his
lady friend under the Land's End signpost; she accepted!
There are many
accounts from Members who have displayed great courage in overcoming
disabilities or adverse circumstances; Members who are elderly or very
young. You can read about their exploits and adventures in the Magazine.
